What Is LoRaWAN Technology?

LoRaWAN® (Long Range Wide Area Network) is a low-power, long-range wireless communication protocol designed specifically for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and large-scale sensor networks. It enables battery-powered devices to transmit small amounts of data over kilometers of distance while consuming extremely low energy.

How LoRaWAN Works

LoRaWAN uses a star-of-stars network architecture, optimized for scalability, reliability, and security.

  2. LoRaWAN Gateways

    Gateways forward encrypted data to a centralized LoRaWAN network server, which manages device authentication, message routing, and security.
