What Are NB-IoT and
LTE Cat-M1?

NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) and LTE Cat-M1 (LTE-M) are cellular Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) technologies designed specifically for Industrial IoT (IIoT), remote monitoring, and smart infrastructure applications. These technologies enable industrial sensors and monitoring devices to transmit data securely over existing cellular networks with ultra-low power consumption, long range connectivity, and high reliability.

Both NB-IoT and LTE Cat-M1 operate on licensed cellular spectrum and are standardized by 3GPP, making them ideal communication technologies for large-scale IoT deployments, industrial asset monitoring, and mission-critical infrastructure monitoring.

NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things)

NB-IoT is a cellular LPWAN technology optimized for ultra-low power sensors and devices that transmit small amounts of data periodically. It provides deep coverage penetration, making it suitable for installations in underground assets, tanks, pipelines, remote infrastructure, and indoor industrial environments.
