Industries:

• HVAC

• Medical

• Laboratories

• Isolation rooms

• Clean rooms

• Data server rooms etc.

Challenges:

There is a constant need to monitor the negative pressure in infected and clean rooms. Failure in both the cases will lead to immense costs. No matter how much is spent on maintenance there is always dust that enters the clean room and not being able to clan the filters in the HVAC will result in poor airflow which will result in overheating and

irreparable damage. The need for negative pressure monitoring has been increased due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19. Which is an airborne disease. This will require to maintain negative air pressure in the patient’s Isolation room. Failure to do so will spread the infection throughout the isolation wards. It is risky for other people to monitor the negative pressure constantly which will put them and the people around them at risk.

Ellenex Provides the solution for these challenges which will save time, labour, capital and reduce the spread of the infection.

Introduction:

PDT2 is a differential pressure monitoring device developed by Ellenex to monitor the pressure difference between two areas. This device is wildly used in HVAC industry, clean rooms and airborne infection isolation rooms. Improper maintenance of the filters in the HVAC system will increase the cost of operation and cost of maintenance. This

device can be strategically placed in the airflow ducts to monitor the airflow before and after the air filter. The built- in temperature sensor can be used to monitor the temperature in the ducts and maintain the perfect temperature in the building. Contractors by strategically placing these sensors in the along their worksites in multiple areas can save time and turnaround time for replacing the filters on the jobs.

Applications:

Cleanrooms always have to maintain positive pressure to stop the contaminants from entering the room. For this to happen there is a need to monitor the pressure difference. Clean rooms to maintain the high pressure should always pump more air pressure than the surrounding rooms. Typically, clean rooms maintain a pressure of 5Pa to 50Pa. These clean rooms are usually used in Aerospace industry, Optics, Military and defence application and Research purposes. It is difficult for a lot of pop-up isolation centres to come fully equipped with anterooms for the isolation chambers. So, measures have to be taken to maintain the negative pressure in the isolation rooms. It is also equally important to see that the pressure is maintained to prevent the contaminants from escaping into the surroundings. This can

be achieved by using differential pressure sensors to monitor constant negative pressure in the isolation rooms. In case the negative pressure drops certain undesired levels alerts can be set on the Ellenex platform to intimate the technician or multiple people who needs to know the situation.

In conclusion, the utilization of LoRaWAN and NB-IoT/CAT-M1 technologies, along with Ellenex's PDT2 device, presents a transformative solution for monitoring negative pressure in critical environments such as HVAC systems, medical facilities, laboratories, and clean rooms. By strategically placing these sensors, industries can efficiently monitor and maintain optimal airflow, temperature, and pressure differentials, ensuring the integrity of their operations and preventing costly damages or contamination. Furthermore, the integration capabilities of the Ellenex software platform/API/MQTT enable seamless connectivity with third-party platforms, enhancing data accessibility and streamlining monitoring processes. Embracing these advancements not only saves time, labor, and capital but also significantly reduces the risk of spreading infections like COVID-19. With the power of technology and intelligent monitoring, industries can safeguard their environments, prioritize safety, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
